Frequently Asked Questions

How many people can your boat hold?

Coast Guard regulations limit all for-hire charter vessels to 6 paying customers (not including crewmembers). Our boats are rated for larger capacity, but we must legally abide by these regulations. If your party is larger than 6 people, you’ll need to book a Multi-Boat Charter. Also please note that some trips require a lower capacity - please refer to our Services page for details.

What should I bring?

Sunscreen
Snacks or lunch
Sweatshirts, windbreakers, and towels (it can get chilly on the water, and it’s always better to be over-prepared than under-prepared!)
Sunglasses
Anti-motion sickness medication if you’re prone to seasickness
Rain gear if the weather is iffy - we do trips rain or shine
Your camera or phone to take amazing pictures!

What does BWE provide?

We provide all safety gear, including life jackets.

For fishing trips, we provide all fishing gear. In addition, the boat has all required fishing licenses so you don’t need to purchase your own fishing license.

How long are the trips?

See our Services page for estimated trip lengths. If you have questions or would like to design a trip of a certain length, please Contact Us and we can work with you to develop the perfect charter.

Where do I park?

There is limited parking available at Ryder’s Cove. Captain Matt will direct you to the appropriate parking location upon arrival. If parking is unavailable on site, there is off-site parking available with a shuttle. For a map to Ryder’s Cove, visit our Contact page.

How do I pay?

We require a $100 deposit at the time of booking, which you can make through our website. The deposit is non-refundable unless we cancel. Trips proceed rain or shine. You can pay in full at the time of booking, or we’ll collect the balance of the trip fee on the boat. You can pay via cash or credit card. Prices do not include tips for the captain, which are customary and accepted via cash or credit card.

Should I leave a tip?

Tipping your captain is customary. Tips are accepted in cash or via credit card. The suggested percentage is similar to that for waitstaff: 18-25% based on your experience.
